Happy Sun *stretch and a yawn* Glitchy! Won’t believe the dream I had *squirrel chatter* No, well okay it might be boring to you, but you have to listen anyway *giggle*
I woke up on this ship made of metal and glass…or at least the windows had clear hard material between them… Anyway, I was looking through these large windows at a room full of people, passengers, you know? Most of the people were against the wall opposite the door, but none of them saw me, they were all looking at the five big guys by the door. So I looked at them too. The one in front was talking, but I couldn’t hear, so I snuck open the door. He was saying, *mock male voice* “They only want her!”
That’s when I heard a calmer voice reply *tries to feign mock male Gilnean accent* “Do you have any idea who she is? She’s spent years in isolation down there doing research for you! For all of us! We all owe her our lives and you want to just give her and that very research over?”
That took the big guy back you know, he didn’t say anything, but he looked over at a black-haired woman in the corner. She had a bunch of books clutched to her and looked very worried. She doesn’t really exist, you know, but in the dream I recognized her instantly. I couldn’t believe I was on the same boat with her! *breathes* Tia Carerra~ Don’t ask me where that name came from…
Anyway, the big guy boss said something like “Oh, and I imagine you all can stop us hm? Most of you are too scared!”
The Gilnean says *squirrel noises* No no, he wasn’t a wolf-person. Anyway, he says, “Hmph, you’re more frightened than we are.” He stands up as the only big guy talking glares and tries to look taller. “After all, we’d die to protect her, you want to give her over for your own safety. Which shows more fear, gentlemen?”
And they all looked at each other! The big guys I mean. The lead one says “Alright, what do we do?” Then every one gets up and starts working together, I’m kinda swept up with them out of the room to get the ship working again. Everyone’s volunteering and someone mentions that it’s too bad we can’t see ghosts…I don’t know, for a ghosty diagnosis of the problem or something *mechanical squirrel noises*
Hey, it’s a dream you know? Anyway, I say “No! I can!” And I pull my goggles down over my eyes and push a few buttons, instant spectre-vision! *giggles* And I saw them too and got excited. Well, at first everything was all pink and hard to see, so I had to wiggle my goggles around and fully over my eyes. But then, it was an awesome sight, I didn’t know my goggles could do that! But…nobody was really paying attention and the ghosts weren’t doing anything but floating around all sad-like. Plus, everyone was going to the upper rooms without me. As everyone was calling out what they could do to help, I ran after them and said “I’m an engineer!” We definitely needed one, you know, so they put me to work with some wires in a little box.
Then I was seeing the storage area, where everyone’s stuff was, but I wasn’t there, the lead big guy, the Gilnean, Tia, and a few others were. Our leaders in the dream, basically. They knew there was a saboteur on board, you know? Anyway, they were searching everyone’s belongings for clues when they came across a bag full of crystals. My heart stopped as I watched and they picked one up. I knew exactly what they were. *squirrel noises* No, they don’t actually exist, but in my dream, I knew that they were the real plan. You see, on the surface, upon inspection, they just look like a bunch of pretty, but valueless red crystals. Once activated by water, they grow. The Gilnean held one up and you could see this gross little worm thing wiggling at the bottom. The only sign that they were living things, not just rocks. He looked in the bag and there were tons of these things wiggling. Ugh.
Anyway, now they knew the bad guys *wanted* them to wait and hope for rescue, that would give the crystals plenty of time to grow below deck and sink the ship, you know, break through the hull and stuff. They didn’t know how to stop them either, or if they could. Either way, we were running out of time! They grabbed up the side of the bag to see who it belonged to and then it skipped to me and the others above, in that little glass room. I was working on a communications box while the others stood on the other side of the room doing stuff.
The leaders come up and declare they discovered the saboteur! We all perked up. Then the Gilnean pointed at me “Stop her!”
“Me?!” I looked behind me thinking there was a mistake and when I saw no one, I took off through a door in the back and up the stairs. As I ran up, I saw another girl, barefoot and in a dirty white dress.
Relieved, I realized they pointed at her and I said, “Oh, not me, her! I’ve got her!” And I ran faster through the door, grabbed her and spun her around! She was real limp, didn’t struggle, and as I turned her around, I saw…me. *silence* Empty eyes, dirt-and-tear-streaked face, tangled hair caught in the breeze…I was still just a kid…but…no one was home. Orphan *the word is heavy, though slightly whispered.* No one loves her…. *slight grunt* I remembered people saying that with their odd mix of pity and disgust. It was one of those still moments, where the world stops, you know?
Then the big guy bumped into me and wrestled her away and down the stairs. I watched them drag her away and then turned to look at some sort of mechanical station to the left, away from the next flight of stairs leading up to the deck. So easy to miss…we all missed it. But I knew it was there. *pause*
Alone. I knew this was what she was after…what I was after. I felt my mind going numb, like hers and hen I woke up. *silence then a sharp inhale* I don’t like the end of that dream. *click*
